Formation of 3 Inspection Teams, Checking Compliance with Safety Management Plan and Status of Safety Facility Management
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Pohang City, Gyeongbuk, announced on the 17th that it will conduct a preliminary safety inspection of apartment construction sites under construction in the region following the apartment collapse accident in Gwangju on the 11th.
The city is strengthening safety management and conducting inspections as a preventive measure due to the recent frequent occurrence of various safety accidents such as large apartment building collapses and overturning of large construction machinery.
This safety inspection will be conducted from the 14th to the 20th targeting 44 construction sites in the region.
The inspection team is organized into three groups to focus on checking the implementation of safety and quality management plans, the condition of temporary fences, screens, falling object prevention nets, and the installation status of temporary facilities.
Minor issues detected during this inspection will be immediately corrected and supplemented on-site, and continuous administrative guidance will be provided to prevent recurrence of similar violations in the future.
Park Sang-gu, Director of the Architecture and Design Division, said, “We have conducted this urgent inspection proactively to prevent similar accidents like the recent Gwangju apartment collapse accident,” and added, “We will do our best to strengthen safety management at construction sites and create a safe city Pohang.”
