[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced on the 17th that it will conduct safety inspections of multi-use facilities with increased citizen usage ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.

The inspection targets include 13 facilities across four sectors: traditional markets, memorial parks, large-scale stores, and manufacturing companies.

The city will form joint inspection teams with private experts in architecture, electricity, and firefighting to focus on checking for defects such as deformation, cracks, and leaks in major structural parts, the status of electrical safety management, fire extinguishing equipment and fire compartments for fire preparedness, safety management of evacuation facilities and escape routes, safety management and compliance with safety standards by safety managers, and adherence to COVID-19 quarantine rules to prevent safety accidents.

On the final day of inspection, the 19th, a joint inspection team will be organized with Gyeongsangnam-do to inspect three traditional markets and large-scale stores.

A Gimhae City official stated, “We will involve private experts in all inspections to ensure efficient and substantial checks,” and added, “We will conduct thorough inspections to prevent any safety blind spots so that all citizens can have a safe and comfortable holiday.”
