[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Suprema, a bio-recognition and integrated security specialist company, announced on the 17th that it participated in ‘Intersec 2022,’ the largest global security exhibition held in Dubai, Middle East, until the 18th. Suprema has maintained the No. 1 market share in the Middle East since 2016, surpassing numerous global security companies with its biometric security products.
At this exhibition, Suprema showcased its lineup of contactless, non-face-to-face solutions. In 2021, it succeeded in differentiation with the premium strategy of ‘FaceStation F2,’ which applied a deep learning-based AI algorithm to counterfeit face detection technology. This year, Suprema announced its challenge to dominate the global contactless, non-face-to-face security market by launching ‘BioStation 3,’ the first product of its 3rd generation security solutions.
The new product reflects the needs and improvement demands from security managers, installation companies, and end users on site, providing more accurate and faster authentication performance by reducing false recognition rates to detect even when wearing various types of masks. Additionally, it offers various access authentication methods such as mobile, QR, and barcode besides facial recognition, providing both security and convenience as its key features.
Through the exhibition, Suprema announced the beginning of its ESG management practice. It created an eco-friendly exhibition zone with biometric and mobile access authentication solutions that can solve environmental pollution problems caused by plastic cards, attracting great interest from visitors. The global carbon dioxide emissions caused by plastic last year were approximately 1.8 billion tons, which is similar to the amount emitted by 900 coal-fired power plants. Suprema’s mobile access authentication solution allows contactless, non-face-to-face access authentication via smartphones. Since there is no need to issue plastic access cards, it not only protects the environment but also reduces management costs and prevents unauthorized access issues caused by lost cards, ensuring safety.
Kim Han-cheol, CEO of Suprema, said, “We expect to provide a user experience that satisfies security managers, installation companies, and end users alike through BioStation 3, the first product of Suprema’s 3rd generation security solutions. ESG management is a very important value for future growth, so we will focus on biometric solutions and mobile access card solution businesses to take the lead in reducing plastic card usage.”
He added, “The Middle East and Africa are regions where Suprema has achieved No. 1 market share, surpassing global security companies. Using this exhibition as a stepping stone, Suprema will promote its excellent technology and vision for future core businesses worldwide and further strengthen its position in the security market.”
