[Asia Economy Online Issue Team] Singer Han Seokyung shared the story of marrying her husband, who is five years younger than her.
On the 16th, Han Seokyung appeared on TV Chosun's entertainment program 'Star Documentary My Way' and introduced her husband and manager, Lee Yongjin. During the broadcast, Lee said to Han Seokyung, "As I get older by a year, I try to stay by your side as long as possible," but Han Seokyung responded, "I don't want that," which brought laughter from those around them.
Han Seokyung cited her father-in-law as the reason she married Lee. Her father-in-law, who worked in the cultural and arts industry, was in the process of recruiting Han Seokyung and told Lee to "bring Han Seokyung," making him drive her, which was their first meeting.
Han Seokyung said about Lee, "When I first met him, he looked like he was in his early 20s. He was so young that I said to my father-in-law, 'Is he the chairman's son? He's so cute.' Since I was older, I patted his head, but my husband looked at me very unfavorably. Later, I found out he was actually 29 years old," she recounted the situation at the time.
Lee also confessed, "I really disliked it. It was our first meeting, and he acted like that, so I disliked it even more," which made everyone laugh.
However, after Lee became Han Seokyung's road manager for a month, their feelings changed. Lee explained, "Spending time with Seokyung during performances was very different from my first impression."
Afterward, the two married just three months after they started dating. Lee Yongjin said, "We lied to our parents that Seokyung was pregnant," and Han Seokyung said, "When my father asked about his occupation, I said he was kind. When he asked about his age, I said he was the kindest man I have ever met. When he asked which school he graduated from, I said, 'Dad, I told you he's really kind.' In the end, we married because he was kind."
