[Wando＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, will provide emergency disaster relief funds of 100,000 KRW per person to all residents to stabilize their livelihoods and revitalize the local economy amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the county on the 17th, this emergency disaster relief fund will be distributed as Wando Love Gift Certificates starting from the 18th, following the prompt approval of the supplementary budget by the Wando County Council on the 17th.

The recipients are residents registered in Wando-gun as of January 10, 2022, and the total budget required is approximately 5 billion KRW.

For residents' convenience, from the 18th to the 28th, public officials from the town and township offices will directly visit villages to provide a "visiting application service," and from the 3rd to the 18th of next month, applications will be accepted at the town and township offices for households that missed the initial application period.

Applicants will receive a receipt upon applying for the emergency disaster relief fund and can exchange it for Wando Love Gift Certificates at NongHyup, SuHyup, ChukHyup, Forest Cooperatives, ShinHyup, Saemaeul Geumgo, and other institutions.

A county official stated, "We thank the residents who have been enduring great inconvenience and difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation while complying with quarantine rules and social distancing for community safety," and added, "We hope the emergency disaster relief fund will provide some support to the residents' livelihoods."
