Gwangju Buk-gu to Recruit Candidates for Special Youth Support Program Until Next Month 3rd

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 17th that it is recruiting candidates for the ‘2022 Youth Special Support Project’ until the 3rd of next month to support youths who are socially and economically struggling.

The Youth Special Support project is designed to help youths who fall into blind spots of laws and systems by providing customized services so that they can grow into healthy members of society.

The recruitment target age has been expanded from the existing 9 to 18 years old to up to 24 years old this year, and includes ▲ youths who need support to prevent delinquency and deviation ▲ youths without guardians or those who do not receive actual protection from guardians ▲ out-of-school youths.

The support includes financial aid or equivalent goods or services in eight areas: living, health, academics, independence, counseling, legal, activities, and others, ranging from up to 150,000 KRW per month to up to 3.5 million KRW per year.

The support period is basically within one year and can be extended once within a one-year range if necessary.

The selection criteria are households with median income at or below 72% (65% or below for living and health support) based on the 2022 National Health Insurance premium self-payment standard.

The candidates will be finalized after review by the Youth Integrated Support System Deliberation Committee in February.

Youths or guardians wishing to apply can visit their local administrative welfare center to submit the application form, National Health Insurance premium payment confirmation, and other required documents.

Director Moon said, “I hope this project will provide some support to youths who are struggling in life without guardians or whose studies have been interrupted,” and added, “We will continue to prepare various support measures so that youths in blind spots can grow happily and healthily.”
