From the 25th, operations will be conducted at the new Munsu-ro office
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Jeonnam Yeosu Maritime Police Station announced on the 17th that it will move from the temporary office at Jeonnam National University Yeosu Gukdong Campus to the new office on Munsu-ro (Munsu-dong).
According to Yeosu Maritime Police, with the completion of the new office construction, the department plans to swiftly complete the office relocation by department over six days from the 19th to the 24th, and start full-scale operations from the 25th.
The new office, built with a total project cost of 16 billion KRW, began construction in October 2019 and was completed in December last year. It is located on a site area of 8,361㎡ (2,529 pyeong) with a building area of 6,779㎡ (2,050 pyeong), consisting of one basement floor and five above-ground floors. It was environmentally designed to reduce energy consumption by applying a renewable energy system.
In particular, the exterior design of the new office carries the theme of "Light of Protection," symbolizing a lighthouse that guides ships in the darkness, representing Yeosu, a beautiful water city, and the commitment to ensuring the safety of the sea and its citizens.
Additionally, Yeosu Maritime Police will maintain operational continuity during the relocation period by setting up a temporary comprehensive situation room at the Sinwol branch office located in Sinwol-dong to prevent any gaps in civil service.
A Yeosu Maritime Police official stated, "With the move to the new building, working conditions will improve, expanding maritime security services and enhancing citizen-friendly administration. We will do our best to create a better sea together with the people."
