Men in their 20s, Yoon Candidate's Approval Rating Jumps 33.3%p from 24.8% to 58.1%

If Unified with Ahn Cheol-soo, Ahn 42.2% vs Lee 34.3%
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] A poll showed that Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, surpassed Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, by a margin beyond the margin of error.
On the 17th, Realmeter conducted a survey commissioned by OhmyNews from the 9th to the 14th, targeting 3,031 men and women nationwide aged 18 and over (with a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of ±1.8 percentage points). The results showed that Yoon's approval rating surged by 6.5 percentage points from the previous survey (2nd to 7th) to 40.6%. Lee's rating fell by 3.4 percentage points to 36.7%. The gap between the two candidates was 3.9 percentage points, exceeding the margin of error.
Ahn Cheol-soo, the People's Party candidate, maintained double-digit support with a 1.8 percentage point increase to 12.9%, while Sim Sang-jung of the Justice Party was recorded at 2%, down 0.8 percentage points.
By age group, Yoon received the highest support among those in their 20s at 47.4%, followed by Lee at 21.8% and Ahn at 18.4%. Notably, Yoon's support significantly increased among 20-something males, often referred to as 'I-dae-nam' (20s males).
In the previous survey, Yoon's support among males in their 20s was 24.8%, but in this survey, it rose by 33.3 percentage points to 58.1%. In contrast, among females in their 20s, support increased only slightly from 27.1% to 28.2%, a 1.1 percentage point rise during the same period.
In their 30s, Yoon (35.8%) also led Lee (27.9%). Among those in their 60s and 70 and older, Yoon received 48.8% and 55.5% support respectively, higher than Lee's 36.6% and 31.3%.
However, in the 40s and 50s age groups, Lee led with 49.5% and 48.2% support respectively, compared to Yoon's 29.3% and 32.1%.
In the electability survey, Lee's rating dropped by 6.6 percentage points to 46.2%, while Yoon's rose by 7 percentage points to 41.9%. The gap between the two narrowed to 4.3 percentage points from 17.9 percentage points in the previous survey. Ahn's rating increased by 1.2 percentage points to 5.7%, and Sim's rose by 0.1 percentage points to 1.1%.
Meanwhile, in the event of a unification between Yoon Seok-yeol and Ahn Cheol-soo, regardless of who is chosen, the unified candidate was shown to be ahead of Lee beyond the margin of error.
If unified under Yoon, Yoon received 45.2% and Lee 37.0%, with a gap of 8.2 percentage points. If unified under Ahn, Ahn received 42.2% and Lee 34.3%, with a gap of 7.9 percentage points.
This survey was conducted using a mixed method of 20% wireless telephone interviews and 75% wireless and 5% wired automated responses, with a response rate of 7.6%. For more details, refer to the Realmeter or the Central Election Survey Deliberation Commission websites.
