GC Green Cross Launches 'Pozine Cream', a Combination Treatment for Herpes Labialis

[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] GC Green Cross (CEO Heo Eun-cheol) announced on the 17th that it recently launched 'Pozinen Cream,' a combination treatment for recurrent herpes labialis (lip herpes).

Herpes labialis is a disease caused by infection with the herpes virus, which remains in the body for life once infected. The virus remains dormant under normal conditions but becomes active when immunity is weakened, causing symptoms such as blisters, itching, and pain.

Pozinen Cream is an over-the-counter medicine applied to the blisters of recurrent herpes labialis to treat the affected area and prevent lesion worsening. It can be purchased at pharmacies and should be applied in an appropriate amount to the affected area five times a day for five days.

In particular, the product contains 'Acyclovir,' which inhibits the replication of the herpes virus, and 'Hydrocortisone,' which is effective for anti-inflammation. The company explained that the combined action of these ingredients can shorten the average treatment period. The product is packaged in a laminated tube that is durable and resistant to tearing, allowing consumers to use it more hygienically.

Yoo Min-jung, brand manager at GC Green Cross, said, "We are continuously expanding our ointment lineup to meet consumer demand," adding, "We will make further efforts to increase consumer awareness along with existing ointment products."
