[2nd Report] JCS: "North Korea Launches Projectile into East Sea"

[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] North Korea launched an unidentified projectile into the East Sea on the 17th.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced this in a text message sent to the press corps at around 8:56 a.m. that day. It is known that the specifications such as range, altitude, and speed are currently being analyzed.

North Korea's launch on this day marks the fourth military provocation since the first show of force in the new year on the 5th. On the 14th, it also fired two short-range ballistic missiles from a train for the second time, following the first on September 15 of last year.

After North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong-un ordered the "development of tactical nuclear weapons" at the 8th Workers' Party Congress in January last year, there is analysis that North Korea has virtually completed the establishment of 'tactical nuclear delivery means' against the South by mobilizing vehicles and submarines within a short period.
