[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] SST Company (SSTC), a big data platform startup in the field of sports science, announced on the 17th that it has recently signed a contract with the professional baseball team LG Twins to provide 'sports science 3D motion analysis services' to its players.
SSTC is a sports tech specialized company that possesses the only precision analysis motion sensor equipment and analysis system in Korea, based on big data specialized in analyzing sports movements and postures.
Through this contract, SSTC will use its self-developed 3D motion capture system to identify the strengths and weaknesses of LG players and provide customized solutions for further improvement. This is aimed at in-depth analysis of each player to improve the LG Twins' team performance, providing objective data and diagnostic reports, and supporting the continuous development of outstanding players.
SSTC stores players' pitching and batting forms in 3D and identifies individual movement issues. The pitching and batting forms during players' prime are stored in 3D, and when a player experiences a slump, specialized management and training are conducted to resolve the issues.
Jo Jun-haeng, CEO of SST Company, said, "We have been continuously discussing solutions for the development of professional baseball and the improvement of players' skills by establishing a cooperative system with LG Twins," adding, "Through this contract, SSTC will be responsible for precise analysis for performance analysis and management of LG Twins players for two years."
