[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Jung-sook, who is visiting Dubai with President Moon Jae-in, attended the 'Korea-UAE Knowledge and Culture Exchange Ceremony' held at the Middle East's largest Mohammed bin Rashid Library (hereinafter 'MBR Library') on the 16th (local time) and donated books containing Korean culture and history.

In her greeting, Kim Jung-sook expressed her hope that the MBR Library, the largest in the Middle East, would establish itself as a hub for spreading and expanding Korean culture and Korean studies content.

She particularly mentioned the representative donated book, the 'Hunminjeongeum Haerye,' stating that it contains the principles of Hangul, which was created to be easy and scientific so that all citizens could write and read letters. She added that the spirit of the library, where all knowledge and wisdom of the world are actively shared and everyone is equally welcomed and supported, can be found in Hunminjeongeum.

Ahead of its opening in April, this event was organized to promote knowledge and cultural exchange between Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Attendees included Princess Latifa bint Mohammed, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Mohamed Al Murr, Director of the MBR Library, and Seo Hye-ran, Director of the National Library of Korea, who shared congratulations and camaraderie.
