KSOI "Yoon's Approval Rating Rises 6.2%p to 41.4%, Leading... Lee 36.2%, Ahn 9.6%"

[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] According to a recent poll, Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, who had seen his approval ratings drop between the end of the year and the beginning of the new year, has once again surpassed Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party candidate, within the margin of error. It appears that support is returning as internal party conflicts have been resolved. Meanwhile, Ahn Cheol-soo, the People’s Party candidate who had recently experienced a sharp rise in approval ratings, showed a decline.

KSOI "Yoon's Approval Rating Rises 6.2%p to 41.4%, Leading... Lee 36.2%, Ahn 9.6%"

According to the regular weekly survey conducted by the Korea Society Opinion Institute (KSOI) from the 14th to the 15th, targeting 1,004 nationwide respondents aged 18 and older, Yoon received 41.4%, Lee 36.2%, Ahn Cheol-soo 9.6%, Sim Sang-jung of the Justice Party 3.6%, and Kim Dong-yeon of the New Wave Party 0.9%.

Yoon’s support increased by 6.2 percentage points compared to last week’s survey (35.2%), while Lee’s support decreased by 1.4 percentage points from last week’s 37.6%. Although still within the margin of error, the ranking between the two candidates has reversed. Ahn’s support dropped from 15.1% last week to 9.6%, falling back into single digits.

KSOI assessed that Yoon regained the 40% support level this time after his approval ratings had fallen to the 30% range following an apology regarding false reports about his spouse’s career.

This poll was conducted via wireless automated response method, with a sampling error of ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, and a response rate of 8.8%. For more details, refer to the Central Election Poll Deliberation Commission or the Korea Society Opinion Institute.
