On the 16th, according to the Gwangju Police Agency, the National Forensic Service conducted an autopsy on Mr. A, a man in his 60s who was the first found among the six missing persons, and the preliminary opinion was that the cause of death was presumed to be due to multiple injuries. Mr. A's family received the body and plans to hold individual funerals after moving to the metropolitan area where they have ties.
The police booked Mr. A (49), the site manager of the construction company HDC Hyundai Development Company, on charges of violating the Building Act on the 12th, the day after the collapse accident. Additionally, based on the autopsy opinion, they plan to apply charges of professional negligence resulting in death. On the 14th, they conducted a search and seizure of the Hyundai Development Company site office and the supervision office, and further bookings of related persons are expected.
Earlier, on the 11th at around 3:46 p.m., the outer wall of the 201 building from the 23rd to the 38th floor collapsed at the Hwajeong I-Park new construction site, resulting in the death of one worker and five others missing. It is presumed that they were responsible for window and fire-fighting equipment work on floors 28 to 34 of the collapsed building.
