Seocho District Council Member Imalda (Democratic Party, Proportional Representation) Begins Legislative Activities


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Seocho District Council (Chairperson Kim Ansook) will hold the 311th extraordinary session, the first session of 2022, for five days from the 14th to the 18th.


The first plenary session held on the 14th began with the oath-taking of Councilor Imalda (The Democratic Party, proportional representation), who officially started her legislative activities as a new member of the Seocho District Council.


This was followed by a 5-minute free speech by Councilor Kim Jung-woo on the "Issue and opposition regarding additional collection of retirement reserves and four major social insurances from apartment consignment management company employees," and a 5-minute free speech by Councilor An Jongsook concerning the "Imposition of compensation charges on 58-28 Jamwon-dong (Hanshin 4 District)."


Additionally, the council handled ▲ the resolution on the session schedule ▲ the election of councilors to sign the minutes ▲ the appointment of standing committee members ▲ four ordinance and regulation proposals including the partial amendment of the Seocho District Council Secretariat Installation and Staff Quota Ordinance ▲ the partial amendment of the Seocho District Council Secretariat Work Division Rules ▲ and resolved the formation of the Seocho District Council Ethics Special Committee.


On this day, Councilor Imalda, starting her approximately six-month term, was appointed as a member of the Administrative Welfare Committee. Chairperson Kim Ansook urged her to work diligently for the happiness of Seocho residents through communication and harmony during the remaining term of the 8th council.


On the 17th, preliminary reviews of ordinances and consent proposals will be conducted by each standing committee, and on the final day of the session, the 18th, the second plenary session will be held to finalize deliberations and resolutions on the agenda reviewed by the standing committees.


In her opening remarks, Chairperson Kim Ansook stated, “In 2022, the Year of the Black Tiger, the Seocho District Council will overcome crises through a clear recognition of reality and present rational hope,” adding, “The goal for the remaining term is to help even one more person have hope, and I will do my best without regret to make this a meaningful time.”
