[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hye-young] Hyundai Genuine (Hyundai Heavy Industries Group Construction Equipment Division) affiliates Hyundai Doosan Infracore and Hyundai Construction Equipment announced on the 16th that they conducted their first joint quality inspection since joining the Hyundai Heavy Industries Group.

Hyundai Doosan Infracore and Hyundai Construction Equipment conducted a cold region test in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province, over five days starting from the 10th. Field tests and verifications were carried out in various aspects such as powertrain, electrical systems, and operator cabin interior quality on the companies' new construction equipment in temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius.

Five excavators and wheel loaders from Hyundai Doosan Infracore and four equivalent machines from Hyundai Construction Equipment were involved in the tests, with a total of 15 employees from both companies' construction equipment performance research and development teams participating together.

Due to the outdoor and unpaved conditions of construction sites, construction equipment often experiences issues such as ▲starting failures ▲hunting (engine misfire, vibration) during operation ▲electrical device errors in extremely low temperatures. Through this cold region test, both companies expect to enhance quality by preemptively checking for functional errors in equipment startability, operational performance, and electrical functions under extreme conditions.

In particular, Hyundai Doosan Infracore, which conducted the industry's first cold region test in Korea in 2014, shared its accumulated know-how on test items and methods developed over eight years with Hyundai Construction Equipment.

A Hyundai Genuine official said, "This joint cold region test was a valuable opportunity to pre-check the performance of equipment released by both companies under the same standards," adding, "We plan to actively utilize each company's strengths to provide higher quality products to our customers in the future."
