Samsung Electronics Opens Food Subscription Platform 'Qooker Food Hall'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hye-young] Samsung Electronics announced on the 16th that it has opened the 'Qooker Food Hall' on Samsung.com for customers who purchase the 'Bespoke Qooker.'

The new concept cooking appliance Bespoke Qooker, launched in July last year, has sold more than 37,000 units as of last month, thanks to its differentiated product capabilities and the popularity of the purchase subscription service 'My Qooker Plan.' The My Qooker Plan is a service that allows customers to purchase the Bespoke Qooker at a discounted price when they buy groceries worth a certain amount or more each month with a Samsung Card during the subscription period at food companies' direct malls collaborating with Samsung Bespoke Qooker.

Reflecting consumers' high interest, Samsung Electronics has prepared the Qooker Food Hall, where various companies' home meal replacements (HMR), meal kits, and instant rice are gathered in one place, allowing customers to easily check and pay for the necessary groceries.

The Qooker Food Hall includes 15 companies, including Bespoke Qooker partners such as CJ CheilJedang, Ottogi, and Entre, and plans to continuously increase the number of participating companies.

Along with the Qooker Food Hall, Samsung Electronics also introduced the food subscription service 'My Qooker Plan Membership.'

'My Qooker Plan Membership' is a service that provides benefits worth up to 15,000 KRW per month when consumers who purchased the Bespoke Qooker buy groceries worth a certain amount or more each month at the Qooker Food Hall.

To commemorate the launch of the Qooker Food Hall, Samsung Electronics will hold a special event from January 15 to February 28.

Depending on consumer lifestyle types, the Qooker Food Hall will offer more than 30 types of 'curated food packages' and sell representative menus of each brand at discounted prices through events such as the 'Signature Menu Exhibition.'

Various campaigns and events are also being held to captivate the MZ generation. By scanning the QR code in the 'Jjikmeok. Bumeok. Qooker' advertisement created by the MZ generation on mobile, consumers can virtually experience the meal kit cooking process using the Bespoke Qooker.

Additionally, the 'My Qooker Meal Kit Challenge' has been prepared, where consumers suggest foods they want to make with the Bespoke Qooker, and three selected items are released as actual meal kits.

Hwang Tae-hwan, Vice President and Head of Samsung Electronics Korea, said, "The Qooker Food Hall is a new subscription platform that enables everything from food purchases to regular subscription services," adding, "We will put more effort into collaborating with various companies and discovering new services to expand the base of Bespoke Qooker and create a new food culture."
