Gyeongbuk Uljin-gun Supports Farms Certified with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Uljin County Office.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is conducting a project to support certification fees and inspection costs for farms that receive Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certification.

This project is promoted to establish the GAP certification system, which manages agricultural products from the production stage to the sales stage to provide safe food to consumers, at an early stage and to expand new certifications.

The support targets are those who have received GAP certification, specifically farmers or organizations whose GAP certification is valid as of the application date, and applications can be made at the local eup/myeon offices.

The GAP certified agricultural products delivery fee support project accepts applications until February 4. Additionally, the certification fee and safety inspection cost support project runs year-round until the budget is exhausted.

Jeon Geukjung, Director of the Future Agriculture Policy Division, said, “To expand GAP certified farms and establish a foundation for safe agricultural production, we have been additionally supporting certification fees and delivery fees since 2021, in addition to the existing safety inspection cost support.”

Uljin-gun stated, “We hope the system will be established quickly to ease the financial burden on producers who have difficulty securing sales channels due to COVID-19 and to help activate direct transactions of agricultural products.”
