[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] On the 14th, North Korea launched two projectiles presumed to be short-range ballistic missiles eastward from inland Pyongbuk, the Joint Chiefs of Staff announced.
This occurred shortly after the United States independently sanctioned six North Korean individuals related to ballistic missiles, demonstrating North Korea's declared "stronger response" in action in protest of the sanctions earlier that morning.
The Joint Chiefs stated, "At approximately 14:41 and 14:52, two projectiles presumed to be short-range ballistic missiles were detected launched northeastward over the East Sea from the Uiju area in Pyonganbuk Province, North Korea."
They added, "The flight distance of the launched projectiles was about 430 km, with an altitude of approximately 36 km. Detailed specifications are currently being analyzed precisely by South Korean and U.S. intelligence authorities."
The military said, "We are tracking and monitoring related developments in preparation for additional launches while maintaining a readiness posture."
