[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Taemin (Lee Taemin), a member of the group SHINee who enlisted as an active duty soldier, has been transferred to supplementary service.
His agency SM Entertainment stated, "As of January 14, 2022, Taemin has been transferred to supplementary service from the Military Band Battalion of the Ministry of National Defense Support Group."
They added, "Taemin has been continuously receiving treatment and counseling during his military service due to depression and panic disorder symptoms he has suffered from for some time. However, his symptoms recently worsened, and based on the military's judgment and measures that it is impossible to continue both military life and treatment simultaneously, he was transferred to supplementary service."
Taemin will continue his national defense duty as a social service agent. It has been about eight months since he enlisted as an active duty soldier in the army on May 31 last year and served in the military band.
SM said, "We apologize for causing concern with this sudden news, and we will do our best to ensure that Taemin can focus on his treatment and maintain stability."
Meanwhile, Taemin debuted in 2008 as a member of the boy group SHINee and has also been active as a solo artist.
