[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Park Hyung-jun, mayor of Busan, will head to the United Arab Emirates and France on the 14th to promote the 2030 Busan World Expo and attract regional investment.

Mayor Park will visit Dubai and Paris over a 5-night, 7-day schedule to promote the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo, attend the sister city commemoration event with Dubai, and work to attract investment.

Dubai, currently the largest international trade city in the Middle East where the 2020 Dubai Expo was held, established a sister city relationship with Busan in 2006.

On the 16th, Mayor Park will attend the official 'Korea Day' event at the Dubai Expo, focusing all efforts on promoting and negotiating for Busan’s bid as a candidate city for the 2030 World Expo, and will hold meetings by visiting major national pavilions.

On the 17th, he will visit the booths of four Busan companies, including ‘Jayeonjiae’, participating in the Korean excellent products exhibition.

Afterwards, he plans to meet with the Dubai mayor to exchange honorary citizenship certificates, request support for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid, and discuss ways to strengthen exchange and cooperation between the two cities.

In Paris, he will meet with corporate representatives, including those from international company A, to introduce Busan’s investment attraction environment.

Company A entered Korea last year and is investing smoothly but plans to expand investment in the future, thus proactively pursuing investment attraction.

Mayor Park Hyung-jun said, “We will actively promote Busan city to global cities,” adding, “We will create the driving force for key projects that will lead economic development, such as the successful bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo and attracting investment within the region.”
