[Smart Check-in Service for Preventing Solitary Deaths in Single-Person Households, Utilizing A-Tracker Service for Detecting Wandering in Dementia Patients]
Rookies Co., Ltd. (CEO: Kim Jong-sung) announced on the 14th that it recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bucheon City Geriatric Hospital to utilize the Smart Check-in Service and the A-Tracker product for dementia patients' wandering detection as part of the community digital care project.
The MOU was signed online through the 7th GLOCAL (a compound of Global and Local, meaning globality and locality) Community Care Online Forum. Hosted by Bucheon City Geriatric Hospital, the GLOCAL Community Care Online Forum has reached its 7th session and has established itself as an important care-related forum event in Bucheon City. During this forum, Rookies’ Smart Check-in Service and A-Tracker product were introduced, and discussions were held on applying these services and products to specific areas within Bucheon City in the future.
Through this agreement, Rookies Co., Ltd. and Bucheon City Geriatric Hospital will promote ▲ mutual cooperation in the development of services, systems, and platforms related to the digital transformation of care ▲ sharing and utilization of data, information, and knowledge held by both institutions ▲ joint research projects ▲ utilization of facilities and equipment as well as exchange of professional personnel between the two institutions.
Rookies’ Smart Check-in Service is a system that sends a text message, email, or notification alert to the manager to “check in” if there is no phone call record or if the phone is turned off for a certain period.
If the monitoring cycle for checking phone call records is set to 3 days, the system activates when there is no incoming or outgoing call record for 3 days or if the phone is turned off. Upon receiving the alert, the manager contacts the individual directly or, if unable to reach them by phone, visits in person to confirm their well-being.
The A-Tracker product can be used by dementia patients or individuals with mild cognitive impairment who carry the device, and it can be used after registering a guardian in the linked app service. The A-Tracker product enables real-time indoor and outdoor location tracking to detect wandering early. In particular, through the Safe Zone setting, if the user leaves the designated area radius, an immediate alert is sent to the guardian to prevent danger. Additionally, by linking with local government CCTV, it is possible to check not only the location but also video information when wandering occurs, providing dual safety prevention.
Through this agreement, Rookies’ Smart Check-in Service and A-Tracker product will be distributed in Bucheon City, further concretizing the community digital care project. Rookies expressed hope that through cooperation with Bucheon City Geriatric Hospital, both institutions will maintain a continuous relationship with a common goal and that this will serve as a stepping stone to develop into a specialized “Life Care” service for vulnerable groups in the community.
