Cooperation Including Free Access to Foreign Journals in Environment and Energy Fields
Expectations for Strengthening Research Capabilities of Regional Innovation Growth Hub Institutions
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Foreign Academic Support Center of Gyeongsang National University Library and Jinju Bio-Industry Promotion Agency signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 12th at the Gyeongsang National University Ancient Documents Library conference room to support community cooperation and research in the environment and energy fields.
In the agreement, both organizations agreed to jointly promote ▲ provision of foreign academic journal search and document copying services in the environment and energy fields ▲ mutual exchange through visits ▲ mutual promotion of each organization's services and publications ▲ other academic exchanges.
Library Director Ki Geun-do said, “We are pleased that our library can contribute to strengthening the research capabilities of the regional innovation growth hub institution.” He added, “We will spare no effort in academic exchange and research support.”
Jinju Bio-Industry Promotion Agency Director Jeong Young-cheol said, “Researchers had difficulties accessing overseas academic materials, and I believe this agreement is a great opportunity to strengthen the resource utilization foundation. We will actively use the center’s information resources.”
The Foreign Academic Journal Support Center (FRIC) at Gyeongsang National University is a national project supported by the Ministry of Education and supervised by the Korea Education and Research Information Service to jointly utilize foreign academic information, secure domestic research competitiveness, and establish an academic environment foundation. Gyeongsang National University FRIC was selected as a center for the environment and energy fields and provides various academic services such as free full-text copying of its holdings.
The Jinju Bio-Industry Promotion Agency is a regional innovation growth hub institution aimed at fostering the bio-industry in Gyeongnam. The agency houses companies producing functional foods, eco-friendly organic materials, and more.
The agency significantly contributes to regional community development by supporting local bio-companies from startup R&D to product manufacturing, increasing sales, creating jobs, and revitalizing the regional economy.
