[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 13th that it will operate a visiting "Mind Relief Bus" for the mental health of local residents.
The "Mind Relief Bus" was selected last August in the Ministry of Health and Welfare's "Mind Relief Bus Operation" project competition, receiving 117 million KRW in national funding to visit areas targeting residents experiencing mental health difficulties.
It is the first project operated by Seo-gu in Gwangju Metropolitan City that provides psychological support such as stress tests, mental health examinations, and other counseling services.
The interior of the bus is divided into a personal counseling space, a stress measurement space, and a rest area (Mom Cafe) to allow local residents to access it comfortably.
It is scheduled to operate twice a week on weekdays, focusing on pre-booked applicant institutions, youth-centered related organizations, vulnerable groups, and COVID-19 response personnel.
Quality mental health services are supported through connections with psychiatric specialists.
A Seo-gu official said, "We will carefully ensure that no residents are excluded from mental health care through the Mind Relief Bus," adding, "We hope to approach residents more closely and conveniently and will do our best to promote the mental health of local residents."
