Carbon neutrality is an unavoidable urgent task for our planet, and the focus of ESG management in 2022 is the environment. While the industrial sector must actively respond to the climate crisis, reducing greenhouse gases through individual participation in climate actions is also a shared challenge for achieving carbon neutrality.
Climate tech startup EnderW.K. and Seoul Transportation Corporation announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to respond to climate change and achieve carbon neutrality.
According to this MOU, both parties will encourage participation in a metaverse platform for reducing greenhouse gases among public transportation users to achieve carbon neutrality, and will promote cooperation to actively engage in greenhouse gas reduction and climate action activation. They also plan to jointly discover various projects and policies.
Climate tech startup EnderW.K. was selected as a world-class environmental project in the Science and Innovation category at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) through the W Foundation, an official partner of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and was invited to deliver a special speech presenting the metaverse ecosystem for climate action activation called ‘Hushi Planet’.
‘Hushi Planet’ is a metaverse ecosystem centered on ‘energy,’ where users operate as personal avatars, complete environment-related quests, and build structures such as trees and power plants (solar, wind, etc.) on owned land to earn carbon reduction rewards called ‘Hushi Energy.’ Through synthesis, users can acquire intellectual property characters (residents) and items to decorate their cities and engage in metaverse economic activities, creating an eco-friendly world.
EnderW.K., together with its subsidiary Hushi Partners, is a climate tech company composed of mobility and climate environment experts. To realize global climate change response and carbon neutrality by 2050, it is promoting domestic and international carbon credit projects in cooperation with the Korea Institute of Climate Change Research. It is also advancing a climate action platform business that collects, measures, evaluates, and induces individual climate action data.
