[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] On the 12th at 3 p.m., Oh Young-woo, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, met with representatives of tourism venture companies at the Korea Tourism Organization Seoul Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, promising support for investment attraction and overseas expansion.
The meeting was attended by representatives of seven outstanding tourism venture companies, including AU, which won the grand prize (Presidential Award) at the integrated ministry startup competition last November, as well as leading companies in overseas expansion. The attendees requested continuous investment, participation in overseas exhibitions, support for overseas expansion, and a regulatory exemption for the camping car 'peer-to-peer (P2P) vehicle sharing service.'
In response, Vice Minister Oh stated, "We will expand the fund size and create opportunities for communication with investment associations to ensure that many tourism ventures receive investment evenly," adding, "We will also expand support for full-scale overseas expansion through overseas bases." Regarding the regulatory exemption for camping cars, Vice Minister Oh replied, "We will actively consult with related agencies."
