[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The police are conducting a preliminary investigation after a woman in her 20s who visited a club in Gangnam-gu, Seoul during the weekend daytime discovered that her ear had been cut off and reported it.
According to the police on the 11th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul received a report the previous day from a woman who visited a club located in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, stating that her ear had been cut off, and they are currently investigating.
On the afternoon of the 9th, the woman who visited the club was found intoxicated by club staff. At that time, the staff saw the woman bleeding and called 119 (emergency services), but the woman refused treatment and only received first aid before going home. The next day, realizing the severity of the injury, she went to the emergency room for treatment and simultaneously reported the incident to the police. The woman reportedly stated that "after sobering up, I found my ear had been cut off, but I do not remember how it happened."
A police official said, "We are investigating the exact circumstances through closed-circuit television (CCTV) inside the club," and added, "The doctor who examined the woman will also be interviewed directly."
