DL Chemical, Product Brands Unified Under 'D' Brand

Imprinting Premium Value Through Brand Integration

DL Chemical, Product Brands Unified Under 'D' Brand

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoonju Hwang] DL Chemical is integrating its product lineup under the D brand and is set to actively introduce its premium value to the market.

On the 11th, DL Chemical announced that it has finalized the brand names for its polyethylene, polybutene, and EPO (synthetic oil) products as D.XPOLY, D.POLYBUTENE, and D.SYNOL respectively, and has completed the official trademark registration.

D.XPOLY is the brand name for DL Chemical’s HDPE and LLDPE polyethylene products produced since 1989, named to signify “polyethylene that offers excellence and extreme performance.”

The new brand name for DL Chemical’s polybutene, D.POLYBUTENE, reflects the pride of being the world’s number one in PB production capacity (based on open market). D.POLYBUTENE has received the Jang Young-sil Award twice, in 1995 and 2015, was selected as one of the “Top 100 Technologies and Key Players in Korea” in 2010, and was included in the “70 Korean Science and Technology Achievements Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of Liberation” in 2015, recognizing its outstanding technological capabilities.

D.SYNOL is DL Chemical’s high-quality lubricant additive brand, intuitively representing Synthetic Oil. Notably, D.SYNOL is the only domestic company to enter the lubricant additive market, which has been dominated by Japanese products, and currently holds over 20% of the global market share.

D.FINE, meaning good and refined, is DL Chemical’s next-generation metallocene polyethylene product, the second in the world to be successfully developed. Based on improved physical properties compared to existing metallocene polyethylene, it enables raw material reduction. Using D.FINE as a raw material allows the production of industrial packaging bags that are stronger yet 25% thinner than before. Its recycling rate is also the highest in the industry. While the typical recycling material usage rate is 20-30%, using D.FINE allows for over 50% recycled material usage while maintaining new product-level quality. In recognition of its contribution to the development of D.FINE, DL Chemical received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award at the Korea Packaging Exhibition (KOREA STAR AWARDS 2021) in May last year, followed by the Minister’s Commendation and the Jang Young-sil Award on Chemical Industry Day in October, and in December, it was awarded the “2022 WorldStar Packaging Award” by the World Packaging Organization (WPO).

A DL Chemical official stated, “The D brand expresses DL Chemical’s commitment to providing premium value to customers based on confidence in our products and technology,” adding, “DL Chemical will continue to grow together with our clients by offering world-class products and services.”
