Samsung Electronics Launches Pre-Orders for Portable Screen 'The Freestyle'

Samsung Electronics models are showcasing various features of 'The Freestyle' at the Samsung Digital Plaza Gangnam Main Store.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Samsung Electronics will begin pre-orders for the portable screen 'The Freestyle,' which garnered great attention at the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition CES 2022, starting from the 11th.

The Freestyle pre-order sales will be conducted primarily through Samsung.com, Samsung Digital Plaza, 11st, and Musinsa starting on the same day, and from the 12th on Today’s House, Gmarket, Kakao, and Naver. Additionally, on the 11th, live commerce will be held on 11st to mark the start of the pre-order sales. Customers who purchase during the pre-order period will receive benefits such as a 2-year subscription to TVING Standard, a dedicated carrier for The Freestyle, and a dedicated battery. The pre-order price is 1,190,000 KRW, and the official launch will be at the end of this month.

The Freestyle can freely rotate up to 180 degrees, allowing it to project a screen up to 100 inches (254 cm diagonal) on walls, ceilings, floors, or any space without restrictions. This product features a lightweight design weighing 830g and a minimal size that fits in one hand, making it easy to carry. It also adopts a C-type (USB-PD) power cable to enhance compatibility. When connected to an external battery with 50W/20V, it can be conveniently used not only indoors but also outdoors for activities like camping.

The biggest advantage of The Freestyle is its various automatic screen adjustment features such as 'Auto Keystone,' 'Auto Leveling,' and 'Auto Focusing.' Auto Keystone automatically corrects projector screen distortion, Auto Leveling automatically adjusts the horizontal alignment based on the projector’s position, and Auto Focusing automatically adjusts the focus of the projector screen.

This product allows users to access various domestic and international online video streaming services (OTT) just like Samsung Smart TVs. When not watching video content, it can be used as a Bluetooth and artificial intelligence (AI) speaker mood light.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics, in collaboration with Shilla Stay, will operate a Freestyle experience service for guests who apply in advance until March 31.
