Daewoo E&C Expands AI, IoT, and Robotics Innovation Ecosystem with Startups Last September, Daewoo E&C held a kickoff meeting with the startup-specialized accelerator FuturePlay to promote open innovation.

Daewoo E&C announced on the 10th that it will establish a practical collaboration system through matching between 12 startup companies and Daewoo E&C’s field departments, and will launch a full-scale open innovation project.

This open innovation project begins with matching representatives from about 10 related departments of Daewoo E&C and 12 participating technology startups to exchange opinions on each company’s services and directions for smart construction, and to create tasks for implementation. The final derived tasks will then be executed.

The participating startups include civil engineering startups such as those developing autonomous driving assistance technology for private roads and tunnels, as well as housing construction startups developing technologies like underground parking lot cleaning robots and zero-energy building component technologies.

In addition, 4th industrial revolution innovative companies, such as those offering corporate solutions applicable to internal organizational management like HR management and construction technology chatbot integration, will participate to enable technological collaboration across various fields.

A Daewoo E&C official stated, "Through this opportunity, we plan to proactively secure smart construction technologies and accelerate digital transformation," adding, "We aim to speed up the discovery of new growth engines by combining startup innovative technologies and business models."

Meanwhile, Daewoo E&C announced last September that it would prepare systematic investment and discovery in this field through collaboration and investment with the startup accelerator 'FuturePlay.' Currently, it is also operating an in-house venture nurturing project for employees.
