The 'Comprehensive Automobile Information Service (Auto365)', which provides all information related to car purchases, used car sales, and scrapping, will soon allow users to check the history of their own cars and used cars for free.
On the 10th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it will completely revamp 'Auto365' to improve accessibility to automobile information and will start the service from the 12th.
First, the authentication methods for Auto365 will be expanded from the existing joint certificate and mobile phone SMS authentication to seven authentication methods.
Previously, authentication was required for each car inquiry, but from now on, a single authentication will allow all inquiries, enhancing convenience related to user authentication.
Also, while users previously had to pay fees for each item when checking the history of their own or used cars, this service will now be provided free of charge, and the payment methods, which were limited to credit cards and mobile payments, will be expanded to five options.
If users register their own cars, they can check all information such as estimated annual tax, mileage, recall information, specifications, and inspection and maintenance history on their My Page.
Furthermore, co-owners besides the primary owner will also be able to access information about the owned cars. This will make it easier to protect and manage car owners' property rights and is expected to help prevent the proliferation of illegal cars.
The Ministry has also prepared a 'Quick Inquiry Service for Vehicles for Sale' corner to prevent fraud in used car transactions by allowing users to check used car information all at once.
By using this service, users can enter only the vehicle registration number and check on a single page whether the car is actually available, the average price of used car sales, and history information.
Kim Jeonghee, Director of Automobile Policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, "By converting the fee for maintenance and other history inquiry services for vehicles for sale to free of charge, it is expected to contribute to preventing fraud in used car transactions."
