[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG HelloVision announced on the 7th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kyung Hee University Smart Tourism Research Center to promote region-centered smart cultural tourism.
With this agreement, LG HelloVision plans to expand smart cultural tourism services for domestic and international tourists, such as regional travel through the metaverse, viewing local cultural heritage via holograms, and enjoying regional festivals through media fa?ades. Both parties agreed to mutually cooperate on ▲establishing an industry-government-academia collaboration model ▲raising awareness of smart cultural tourism ▲developing regional cultural tourism content.
First, both sides will focus on building industry-government-academia collaboration hubs by region. They plan to provide customized consulting and solutions to local governments and public offices to raise awareness of smart cultural tourism and actively expand advanced tourism infrastructure.
They will also promote the development of new cultural tourism content reflecting regional characteristics. Differentiated tourism resources such as local cultural heritage and festivals will be discovered and nurtured. These will be combined with the latest digital technologies such as the metaverse, holograms, and media fa?ades to create environments that offer tourists unique experiences in each region.
Park Eun-jung, Executive Director of Media Business at LG HelloVision, said, “The purpose of this collaboration is to revitalize the local economy and society through the activation of smart cultural tourism,” adding, “We will lead industry-government-academia cooperation and strive to develop cultural tourism content and services that attract domestic and international tourists to the regions.”
