Muan-gun Announces 45 System and Policy Changes in 6 Areas for 2022 Muan-gun Government Office Building View ? Asia Economy

[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do announced the ‘2022 Changes in Systems and Policies’ on the 3rd.


According to the county on the 5th, the changes in systems and policies for next year include 45 projects across six sectors: Jobs and Economy (7 items) ▲ Welfare, Health, and Women (17 items) ▲ Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, and Livestock (8 items) ▲ Tourism, Culture, and Education (4 items) ▲ Transportation, Construction, and Environment (6 items) ▲ General Administration and Taxation (3 items).


In the Jobs and Economy sector, various new youth support policies will be implemented. Start-up funds will be provided to young residents of Muan aged 19 to 39 who have started a business within the last three years or are newly starting one, and regional youth hope connection jobs will be supported for students aged 18 or older attending specialized high schools and universities in the province.


The age range for support under the New Middle-aged Hope Jobs program will be expanded from 59 to 69 years old. Additionally, 20% of the installation cost for renewable energy supply housing will be newly supported to promote carbon neutrality.


In the Health, Welfare, and Women sector, childbirth and childcare support funds will be significantly increased to create a better environment for having and raising children.


Newborn childcare expenses will increase by 500,000 KRW each for the first and second child, while support for the third child will rise dramatically from 2.5 million KRW to 10 million KRW, and for the fourth child and beyond from 3 million KRW to 20 million KRW, all fully funded by the county.


Support for pregnancy and childbirth medical services will be expanded, covering all medical and material costs within 1 million KRW for single births and 1.4 million KRW for multiple births over two years.


Infants under two years old will receive a monthly allowance of 300,000 KRW, and newborns will be newly supported with a first meeting usage voucher worth 2 million KRW.


The child allowance support target age will be expanded from 7 to 8 years old, and the child development support account will increase from a maximum of 50,000 KRW to 100,000 KRW per month.


Allowances for children with disabilities will increase by 20,000 KRW for severe disabilities and 10,000 KRW for mild disabilities, and honor allowances for veterans of the Korean War and Vietnam War will increase by 10,000 KRW to 30,000 KRW per month.


The Jeonnam young couples’ marriage congratulatory fund will be expanded by relaxing residency conditions to support couples where only one spouse resides in the relevant city or county, and cultural welfare cards worth 200,000 KRW annually will be provided to youth aged 21 to 28.


In the Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, and Fisheries sector, various subsidy support rates will be increased to reduce the household burden of farmers and fishermen.


In the Tourism, Culture, and Education sector, the sports lecture usage voucher support amount will increase from 80,000 KRW to 85,000 KRW per month, and travel activity expenses of 140,000 KRW per person will be provided to people with disabilities and low-income groups.


For universal educational welfare for students, new support will be provided for graduation album fees of 60,000 KRW for elementary, middle, and high school students, annual internet education broadcasting fees of 50,000 KRW for middle and high school students, and 50% of operating costs for school buses for rural high schools.


In the Transportation, Construction, and Environment sector, support for rural vacant house maintenance will increase to 1.8 million KRW per household, while subsidies for installing low-NOx boilers for general households (from 200,000 KRW to 100,000 KRW) and purchasing new LPG freight vehicles (from 4 million KRW to 2 million KRW) will be reduced by 50%.


The food waste disposal fee for apartment complexes will be improved from a flat rate of 1,000 KRW per household to a charge of 21 KRW per kilogram of food waste.


Additionally, usage fees for public parking lots in the county will be reduced, with the first two hours and the period from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. being free of charge.


Moreover, the next-generation electronic passport will be fully issued, and interest support for university student loans will be expanded from current students to unemployed graduates within two years after graduation.


A county official said, “We will promote the 2022 changes in systems and policies through various channels so that residents can properly understand and utilize them in daily life,” adding, “We will continue to actively discover and implement life-oriented policies and system improvements to enhance the quality of life for our residents.”
