[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Citylabs, a KOSDAQ-listed company, announced on the 4th that its self-developed blockchain solution 'MiddleBlock' has obtained the Grade 1 GS (Good Software) certification from the Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR).
The software quality certification acquired by Citylabs' 'MiddleBlock' is a system that certifies software performance and value by a credible external institution, applying the evaluation standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) based on the Software Industry Promotion Act.
Citylabs' self-developed blockchain solution 'MiddleBlock' is software developed to build blockchain in the form of an API (Application Programming Interface), allowing easy integration with existing corporate systems. Each service provider can quickly and economically offer various types of blockchain services through 'MiddleBlock' without needing blockchain developers, and users can reliably use high-performance blockchain services.
'MiddleBlock' provides a wide range of applications including decentralized identity authentication (DID), ID card and certificate management, trust-based electronic contracts between P2P, token management for token economy, and even object DID for the Internet of Things (IoT). These technologies were also applied as real cases in the Jeju Smart City Challenge project in which Citylabs participated, verifying their effectiveness.
Cho Youngjoong, CEO of Citylabs, stated, "'MiddleBlock' is a platform-customized solution reflecting core technologies such as interoperability between blockchains, multi-message processing, and high-performance network infrastructure, going beyond the reliable transaction functions in blockchain." He added, "We plan to focus on lowering the barriers to access blockchain technology, which has become a core technology of the 4th industrial revolution, and expanding actual application cases in various services and platforms this year."
