[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Korean Air announced on the 4th that it will launch the 'Green Skypass' project, an eco-friendly forest creation initiative to prevent climate change and practice carbon neutrality.
To participate, customers can purchase bonus tickets using Skypass mileage on the Korean Air website or mobile app, or buy logo products in the KAL Store within the mileage mall menu, then click the GREEN SKYPASS banner and press the participate button.
For each participation by Skypass members, Korean Air will accumulate KRW 2,000 per international bonus ticket, KRW 1,000 per domestic bonus ticket, and KRW 500 per logo product purchase as funds for creating the Skypass forest.
Korean Air plans to invite members who participate in this project to the Skypass forest tree planting event scheduled for March through a separate recruitment and drawing.
To commemorate this project, Korean Air will hold various mileage usage events, including a 10% discount on economy class bonus tickets for all domestic routes until the 27th, discounts on KAL Store logo products until the 31st, and sales of eco-friendly products in collaboration with 'Project1907'.
A Korean Air official stated, "This project was conducted so that Skypass members can not only enjoy using their mileage but also feel a meaningful sense of contribution by helping to create forests and participate in environmental protection," adding, "We will prepare various ways for Skypass members to contribute to eco-friendliness in the future."
