Lee Jae-myung Thanks Lee Nak-yeon for Accepting One Team and Playing a Big Role

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, responded on the 23rd to former leader Lee Nak-yeon joining the campaign committee by saying, "I sincerely thank him for taking on a significant role together."

After the meeting with former leader Lee in the afternoon, Candidate Lee wrote on Facebook, "(Former leader Lee) also mentioned that he might share views somewhat different from those of the candidate or the party. I am even more grateful for that," adding, "Because when diverse opinions meet, go through adjustments, and become one, we will become stronger."

He continued, "Since we are comrades looking toward the same goal of regime reestablishment and a new Republic of Korea, our diverse voices will be reborn as a beautiful harmony for the establishment of the 4th Democratic government."

He also said, "I believe that former leader Lee's experience and new vision will more than fill my shortcomings," and added, "We will move forward to victory in the general election with one heart and one mind."

On the same day, the two met for the first time in 51 days and agreed to establish a 'National Vision Integration Committee' within the campaign committee, with former leader Lee appointed as the chairman.
