[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil County in Jeonbuk has shown excellent results in various health promotion programs that prioritize the health of its residents.
The county announced on the 20th that it was selected as an outstanding institution in the health promotion field and received the governor's commendation in the '2021 Community Integrated Health Promotion Project Evaluation' hosted by Jeonbuk Province.
The Community Integrated Health Promotion Project is a program aimed at promoting healthy living practices, preventing chronic diseases, and managing the health of vulnerable groups among local residents.
Programs and services reflecting the characteristics of the community and the needs of residents were planned and implemented.
Jeonbuk Province comprehensively reviewed the results of excellent non-face-to-face project cases and selected outstanding institutions that contributed to the integrated health promotion project.
This selection was made to boost pride in project implementation and to promote morale.
Although the county faced difficulties in operating the integrated health promotion project due to COVID-19, it conducted non-face-to-face education called 'Hot! Obesity Clinic' to encourage and activate participation in healthy living practice programs among local residents.
It also promoted health exercise programs at senior centers and welfare centers, the 'Strong Bones! Growing Taller!' healthy living practice program at local children's centers, and mobile healthcare projects to increase the rate of healthy living practices.
In particular, it thoroughly strengthened the prevention of chronic diseases among vulnerable groups by providing visiting health management services, traditional Korean medicine mobile clinics at senior centers, complication prevention tests for chronic diseases, and health lectures on the prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
County Governor Shim Min said, "I believe this award is the result of actively promoting health service programs reflecting the demands of the residents," and added, "We will continue to make efforts to promote the health of our residents."
