Suncheon-si Selected as the Best Institution for Outdoor Advertising Work in Jeonnam Province This Year

Recognition of Achievements in Creating Pleasant Street Environments through Outdoor Advertising Facility Grading System

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 20th that it was selected as the best institution in this year's Jeollanam-do outdoor advertising evaluation.

In this evaluation, the city was highly praised and received the Jeollanam-do Governor's Commendation for successfully implementing various policies to create a clean and pleasant street environment, including ▲the implementation of a reward system for collecting illegal floating advertisements, ▲removal of illegal advertisements using public work programs, ▲campaigns to eradicate illegal advertisements, ▲safety inspections of outdoor advertisements in preparation for wind and flood disasters, ▲the outdoor advertising facility grading system, ▲hosting the Jeollanam-do Outdoor Advertising Exhibition, and ▲establishing an outdoor advertising development fund.

In particular, by conducting a full inspection of outdoor advertising boards and bulletin boards and managing them by grading through the 'Outdoor Advertising Facility Grading System,' the city was able to manage smoothly and perform preemptive repairs on facilities needing maintenance, which was selected as an excellent case in the government joint evaluation.

Additionally, the city was recognized for its significant contribution to the successful hosting of the 19th Jeollanam-do Outdoor Advertising Exhibition held last month at the Suncheon Bay International Wetland Center.

An official from the Suncheon City Architecture Department stated, “This award is thanks to the 290,000 citizens of Suncheon who have worked hard for a clean and pleasant urban landscape,” and added, “Taking this award as an opportunity, we will strive to establish a proper outdoor advertising culture and continuously organize illegal advertisements to create a pleasant living environment.”
