[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The coffee franchise 'Coffee Evanhada' is expanding its unmanned stores, leveraging fast and accurate robot services as its key strength. Starting with its flagship store in Samseong-dong, Seoul this year, it has been opening more than 10 road shop stores every month.

Coffee Evanhada differentiates itself from other brands operating on a B2B (business-to-business) basis by having commercial district analysis experts recommend robot barista models according to the surrounding commercial area and operational type.

'Marco' is a store featuring a high-performance robotic arm. It can simultaneously extract two or more drinks. The self-service 'Lily' is a speed-type model capable of extracting ade beverages in just 8 seconds, and can produce about 70 menu items within a minute.

They have introduced high-quality premium coffee beans so that customers can choose according to their needs when ordering. Additionally, in line with the eco-friendly trend, they are developing a system that allows the use of tumblers to reduce disposable product usage.

Im Eun-seong, CEO of Coffee Evanhada, said, "With the slogan 'Start a business but don't work,' we aim to create a truly unmanned cafe where store owners do not have to worry about store operations," adding, "We are implementing a 24-hour control center, an automatic ordering system, motion detection analysis CCTV, and a membership application."

Coffee Evanhada operates a 24-hour control center to monitor and respond to issues occurring in stores via CCTV, and customers can resolve problems in real time by contacting the call center number. An access control system is in place, and an unmanned operation team works during nighttime.

Coffee Evanhada’s automatic ordering system calculates and orders raw material consumption based on sales volume to assist store owners in managing their stores.

Recently, as about 50 existing Coffee Evanhada stores are scheduled to be converted into smart cafes, interest in unmanned smart cafe startups is increasing. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the global cafe market is accelerating its shift toward unmanned stores and contactless markets utilizing robots.

A Coffee Evanhada representative stated, "We are researching and developing new menus and technologies to realize a true unmanned cafe, and we will do our best to become a global leader in the unmanned market beyond Korea."
