[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Iseul] Actor Seol Kyung-gu has achieved five Best Actor awards for 'Joseon Fishery Book'.

Seol Kyung-gu won the Best Actor award for the film 'Joseon Fishery Book' at the 8th Korean Film Producers Association Awards held at Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the evening of the 17th.

With this, Seol Kyung-gu swept five consecutive Best Actor awards, starting with the Korean Film Critics Association Awards (Yeongpyeong Awards), followed by the Korea University Film Festival, the Golden Camera Awards, the Blue Dragon Film Awards, and the Korean Film Producers Association Awards.

Seol Kyung-gu said, "Thank you for giving me this award. This morning, I thought of the late CEO Lee Chun-yeon. I feel like he is here since I came to this place, and I missed him a lot. It is a really difficult time, but I believe he is watching over us from heaven."

He continued, "'Joseon Fishery Book' is a film where not only I but many actors emptied their desires and entered the island with good intentions to shoot. Rather, we participated with the good intention of making a good film on a small budget, thinking of resting our tired bodies and minds. Now that I have received such a good award, it makes me think once again about the mindset I should have when working on a film."

The film 'Joseon Fishery Book' tells the story of Jeong Yak-jeon, who was exiled to Heuksan Island, and the island youth Chang-dae, who together compile Joseon's first fish encyclopedia, Joseon Fishery Book. Seol Kyung-gu played the role of Jeong Yak-jeon.

Additionally, Seol Kyung-gu stars as politician Kim Un-beom, who challenges to change the world in the film 'Kingmaker,' which is set to be released during the Lunar New Year holiday in January next year. He also appeared in tvN's 'Monthly Connect,' Twitter Blue Room Live, and JTBC's 'Banggu-seok 1-yeol,' showcasing his active presence.
