For Multicultural Children Aged 8 to 16
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jin-ho] Woori Financial Group's Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation announced on the 20th that it is recruiting multicultural children to participate in the '2022 Woori Multicultural Orchestra.'
The Woori Multicultural Orchestra was established in 2020 by the Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation to discover musical talents among multicultural children and support professional music education. Through a business agreement with Sookmyung Women's University, professors from the College of Music and university students majoring in orchestral instruments provide education to multicultural children.
Selected members can systematically learn instruments through one-on-one lessons, small group education, and full ensemble rehearsals. In addition, they are given opportunities to perform as well as participate in improvement concerts and recitals to gain diverse musical experiences.
All costs related to education and performances are covered by the Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation, and applicants who apply for the Woori Multicultural Scholarship can also receive preferential selection benefits.
The application target is multicultural children aged 8 to 16. Applications can be submitted through the Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation website until the 3rd of next month. After a practical examination, a total of 30 members will be selected for violin, viola, cello, and flute sections.
Starting from February next year, education will be held every Saturday at Sookmyung Women's University, and considering the spread of COVID-19, both online and offline classes will be conducted concurrently.
Son Tae-seung, Chairman of Woori Financial Group and Director of the Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation, said, "I hope this will be a great opportunity for multicultural children to discover their talents through orchestra activities and grow into musical talents," adding, "We will continue to support multicultural children generously so that they can achieve various dreams."
