Suncheon City Awarded Minister of the Interior and Safety Prize for 'Excellent Labor-Management Culture in Public Officials' Administration'


[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 17th that it was selected as an excellent administrative institution at the ‘2021 Excellent Public Official Labor-Management Culture Administrative Institution’ awards ceremony and received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award.


The Excellent Public Official Labor-Management Culture Administrative Institution certification system, hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, has been implemented since 2010 with the purpose of creating a win-win and cooperative atmosphere between labor and management and spreading a labor-management win-win culture in the public service community.


In this year’s evaluation, Suncheon City was recognized for presenting a new development model of labor-management relations for public officials, including the implementation of regional joint cooperation projects for labor respect and regional co-prosperity development, efforts to improve working conditions, and regularization of collective agreements and labor-management councils.


Kim Gwang-ja, head of the labor union branch, said, “The result of Suncheon City being selected as an excellent administrative institution for labor-management culture is very meaningful,” and added, “We will do our best to create a new labor-management relations model through communication and cooperation.”


Mayor Heo Seok of Suncheon said, “Starting with the certification of Suncheon City as an excellent administrative institution for labor-management culture, we will take the lead in creating a happy workplace culture through more active communication between labor and management.”
