Actively Practicing Administrative Services That Move Citizens, Five 'Kind Public Officials' Selected
Civil Petition Passport Department and Officer Hwang Jeong-gu
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, has selected Hwang Jeong-gu, an administrative officer working in the Civil Affairs Passport Division, as the "2021 Kindness King of the Year."
To select the Kindness King of the Year, the city conducted an online vote among all employees on the 14th and 15th through the internal administrative system used by Jinju city officials, targeting five kind civil servants.
Among the 952 employees who participated in the vote, Hwang Jeong-gu was chosen as this year’s Kindness King by receiving the most votes.
Other civil servants recognized for kindness based on the number of votes include Jeong Seon-hwa from Gaho-dong, Park Young-sook from the Waterworks Division, Bae Jin-young from the Lifelong Learning Division, and Won Kyung-rok from the Forestry Division.
Hwang Jeong-gu, selected as the Kindness King of the Year, entered public service in 2004 and has worked in various departments such as Administration, Senior and Disabled Affairs, Vehicle Registration Office, and Sangpyeong-dong for 17 years. Drawing on this experience, he has always communicated with a listening and empathetic attitude toward clients and colleagues, earning him the honor of Kindness King.
In particular, leveraging his accumulated experience in the family register field, he has actively performed his duties by helping citizens obtain normal family relation registration certificates by locating long-lost family registers, leaving a great impression on the public.
A city official stated, “The Kindness King selection, which has been continuously held since 2014, will greatly contribute to spreading a culture of kindness by boosting civil servants’ morale through encouraging active and kind civil service, increasing client satisfaction, and rewarding various achievements.”
