[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seohyun] Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, stated regarding various allegations surrounding Yoon Seok-yeol candidate's spouse Kim Gun-hee, including false career entries, "From the party's standpoint, we fundamentally believe that fact-finding is a priority, and the candidate is responding accordingly."

On the evening of the 16th, Lee appeared on YTN's 'News Evening' and said, "We have a principle that the initial response should be sufficient enough so that the public does not feel any shortcomings."

He pointed out, "The public evaluates elected officials not only on the presence or absence of guilt or facts but also on their demeanor, attitude, and the overall process of handling issues. During the early response to the Cho Kuk minister incident, many problems with Cho Kuk's family caused public anger, ultimately leading to his downfall and significant damage to the administration."

He continued, "Accurately identifying the facts is a priority. While the media may focus on specific points to raise suspicions, from the spouse's or candidate's perspective, proactively judging which parts of one's entire life require explanation is a different matter."

Regarding the criticism that "it is sometimes ambiguous whether candidate Yoon has apologized," he emphasized, "If the candidate acknowledges there is an issue, he is prepared to sincerely communicate with the public."

He added, "There are difficult points in understanding parts that could not be grasped before marriage, and even after marriage, since the candidate worked as a prosecutor and the spouse managed a business independently, they did not interfere much with each other, as far as I know."
