[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Hannam University Technology Holdings Co., Ltd. has been selected as an executing institution for the ‘2021 University Technology Holdings Subsidiary Growth Support Project’ organized by the Research & Development Special Zone Promotion Foundation.
According to Hannam University Technology Holdings on the 15th, this project is implemented with budget support from Daejeon City and is overseen by the Research & Development Special Zone Promotion Foundation, aiming to foster regional university technology holding companies and subsidiary research enterprises.
The support includes management of technology holding companies, promotion of research institute company establishment, technology commercialization, and market development.
Hannam University Technology Holdings has been selected as an executing institution for six consecutive times up to this year, which is the only achievement among universities located in the Daejeon area.
Through this project, Hannam University Technology Holdings plans to establish a qualitative growth system for research institute companies in the region and provide direct nurturing support to build a growth ladder for enterprises.
Lee Byung-chul, CEO of Hannam University Technology Holdings, said, “Following the project selection result, Hannam University Technology Holdings will strive to serve as a catalyst for the joint growth of regional universities and companies,” adding, “We will find the role of a technology holding company that fits the global 4th Industrial Revolution era and lead industry-academia growth.”
Meanwhile, Hannam University Technology Holdings has played a stepping stone role in revitalizing the regional economy and creating jobs by achieving results such as 110 new jobs created, 29 research institute companies established, and 17.7 billion KRW in subsidiary sales over the past five years.
Additionally, it has taken the lead in fostering youth startup ventures by forming four private investment associations to invest in promising local venture and startup companies.
The first investment association created the first and largest investment recovery case among regional university investment associations. Hannam University Technology Holdings plans to form a fifth private investment association fund this month to invest in promising venture companies.
