[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gyeongsangnam-do attracted a record-breaking corporate investment of 4.7 trillion won this year.


On the 9th, Gyeongnam held the '2021 Gyeongnam Investment Companies Appreciation Day' at the Grand Mercure Ambassador Changwon. The event was organized to convey encouragement and gratitude to companies that are carrying out investments in Gyeongnam.


The province presented plaques of appreciation to 13 companies that have fulfilled their investment commitments and created new jobs among those that signed investment agreements, requesting their continued contribution to ongoing investment and job creation.


The selected companies are Coupang, Samyang Foods, Hanguk Teukgang, Geumgang, Hanguk Fiber, Daesin S&C, Science, Stem, Next CND, Samnok, Family Tourism Hotel, Blue Indus, and Donggu Enterprise.


Since signing the agreements, the selected companies have newly employed a total of 1,368 people, revitalizing the local economy.


On the same day, an investment agreement signing ceremony was also held with two newly investing companies.


Kyungdong Materials decided to invest in Gyeongnam to build a large-scale smart logistics center in the Deokgye Wolra General Industrial Complex in Yangsan City. They plan to invest 330 billion won on approximately 53,791㎡ of land and hire about 1,700 new employees.


Foreign-invested company Agru Korea plans to establish an eco-friendly semiconductor piping and large-diameter pipeline factory for water supply and sewage in the Geumseong Shipbuilding Agricultural Industrial Complex in Hadong County. They will invest 40 billion won on about 33,000㎡ of land and hire 30 new employees.


Acting Governor Ha Byung-pil said, "We thank the businesspeople who have contributed to revitalizing the local economy and creating jobs through bold investments in Gyeongnam," and added, "Gyeongnam Province will strive to be a reliable partner for companies and grow together with them."
