[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City (Mayor Moon In) announced on the 9th that it will hold the "13th A Day of Reading at the Library" event at Ilgok Library on the 11th.

This event was prepared to provide residents tired from COVID-19 with an opportunity to rest through books and reading.

On the day of the event, starting at 10 a.m., a lecture by Professor Yoo Youngman of Hanyang University will be held under the theme "Develop Human Intelligence Surpassing Artificial Intelligence in the Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution." Professor Yoo will explain self-development necessary in the rapidly changing digital era.

In the afternoon, various age groups including children and adults will participate to read books, followed by a meeting with the author and literary critic's explanation of works, sharing a time of communication through books.

Additionally, various experiential programs such as an exhibition of the most borrowed books by year at Ilgok Library, making reading mood lamps, and an exhibition of reading club poetry paintings will be operated.

A Buk-gu Office official said, "We hope this event will be an opportunity for residents to read books and cultivate their knowledge in daily life," and added, "We will continue to strive to spread the reading culture in the local community through distinctive cultural events."
