Gyeongnam Office of Education Achieves Comprehensive Integrity Grade 2
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Saerom] Park Jonghun, Superintendent of Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education, received the ‘Integrity Person of the Era Korea’ award on the 9th at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in celebration of the 8th UN International Anti-Corruption Day.
Since January, Superintendent Park has established a ‘Direct Integrity Hotline for the Superintendent’ as a corruption and misconduct reporting hotline to communicate directly with complainants and disclosed the results of corruption-related investigations on the official website.
He also led the spread of an anti-corruption integrity culture by signing a ‘Business Agreement for Realizing a Clean Society’ with the Gyeongsangnam-do Chapter of the Korea Construction Association, the Gyeongsangnam-do Chapter of the Korea Specialty Contractors Association, the Gyeongsangnam-do Architectural Society of the Korea Institute of Architects, and the Gyeongnam Council of the Korea YMCA.
The Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education received a ‘Grade 2’ in the comprehensive integrity evaluation conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, rising two levels compared to the previous year.
The main factors for the increase in integrity were analyzed to be the improvement in external integrity and fairness in internal work instructions.
Superintendent Park said, “We will continue to promote integrity policies that can communicate and empathize with the field by collecting various opinions from faculty members and residents.”
