[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Woongjin ThinkBig announced on the 9th that it will open a metaverse (3D virtual world) library on its AI (artificial intelligence) learning platform 'SmartAll'.
The metaverse library is a virtual library built within SmartAll. It aims to increase interest in reading by providing learners with the joy of choosing books and a high level of immersion in a virtual environment implemented identically to reality.
Children can freely explore the library as 3D avatars representing themselves and select and read any books they want from shelves arranged by category. If they are curious about a book, they can move to a kiosk to search for it and check the books and videos most viewed by their friends.
Woongjin ThinkBig plans to add content to promote immersion, self-directed learning and reading, and interaction with friends. Additionally, content for the upcoming Christmas will be introduced.
Choi Samrak, Head of IT Development at Woongjin ThinkBig, said, "We hope children feel more familiar with reading through the enjoyable experience of freely exploring the library and reading books they personally choose," adding, "We will continuously expand the service so that children can practice self-learning and communicate with peers in the SmartAll metaverse."
