Volvo Cars Unveils Pet-Exclusive 'Car Seat'

[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Volvo Cars Korea unveiled four types of goods on the 9th, including the ‘Volvo Save Seat’ and ‘Volvo Save Tag’ for the safety of pets.

The pet-exclusive goods released this time were created in response to the increasing number of pet owners in Korea. The company explained that they expanded the brand’s safety philosophy beyond ‘people’ to include the safety of ‘animals’ and aimed to raise awareness about the importance of safer driving with pets.

The four goods consist of a car seat, car mat, and a pet bed and harness set (including harness, leash, and poop bag). The proceeds from the sales of these goods will be donated to organizations related to abandoned dogs to promote a mature pet culture.

The car seat (Volvo Save Seat) is designed with a car seat cradle fixed to the vehicle and a detachable inner bed. The inner bed can be used in daily life, allowing pets to easily adapt and minimizing fear and separation anxiety caused by unfamiliar environments during car rides.

In the case of the harness set (Volvo Save Tag), important information such as the pet’s name, contact information of a third-party guardian, hospital, and chronic illnesses are engraved on the harness to enable immediate assistance in unexpected accidents and emergencies.

Yoon Mo Lee, CEO of Volvo Cars Korea, said, “We have released this pet lifestyle collection to embody Volvo’s sincerity in expanding the brand’s safety philosophy from applying it only to people to including everything that lives with us.” He added, “We will continue to make efforts in various ways to safely protect not only people and animals but also the environment we live in together.”
